PhD, MPhil rules eased for women and disabled

Acting on the suggestion made by HRD minister Smriti Irani, University Grants Commission took decision to relax the rules for students with 40% disability and women.
In MPhil relaxation is for 1 year and PhD for two years. In addition, women candidates will be provided maternity leave and child care leave for leave once in the entire duration for up to 240 days.
In case of reallocation due to marriage the research data will be transferred to the university the scholar intends to reallocate.
