SC directs direct flights to Shimla by air services

Despite been one of the top destinations for domestic and foreign tourists and having an airport, there are no commercial flights to Shimla as the Airlines do not consider the route profitable.
Supreme Court directed the concerned authorities to inform by May 4 the air services to be provided to the hill resort.
The Centre’s plea that they could not force the services to Shimla on the Airlines was rejected by SC.
