SC's Ban on diesel cars arbitrary: Bhargava

Days before the SC considers a plea to impose a green cess on the car industry in view of rising pollution levels in Delhi, Maruti Suzuki chairman has termed the apex court’s ban on diesel cars above 2 liter engine capacity “arbitrary”.
The SC has been hearing petitions against raising pollution in Delhi and banned diesel cars with engine capacity above 2 liters in Delhi.
“Two-wheelers cause 2-3 times more pollution than this and trucks 4.5 times”, he said.
