The National Law University Delhi, a premier national law university of India is announcing National Seminar on CONSUMER PROTECTION: NEW AGE CHALLENGES to be organised on February 19-20, 2016 at its campus in Dwarka, New Delhi.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR:
The major theme of the programme will be “New Age Challenges in Consumer Protection”. The theme is broad in nature; hence, the participants may take up any Topic/Trend/Issue/Development covered under the purview of the theme.
While the Globalization and liberalization of trade and business have resulted in many products and services being available to the consumers, this has necessitated giving high priority for protection of the consumers and promotion of responsible consumer movement in the country. The seminar is planned when the Government is endeavouring to amend the Consumer Protection, 1986. It is hoped that conducting a discussion amongst legal luminaries, academics, members of Voluntary Consumer Organizations (VCOs) and enforcement agencies during the proceedings of the seminar would be fruitful. The seminar seeks to distillate the experience and suggestions of various stakeholders in preparing a database for the lawmakers and policy planners to appropriately amend the law and policies to address the concerns.
CALL FOR PAPERS:
Well researched original research papers, case studies and survey reports are invited from the academics, practitioners, researchers, VCOs, students and other stakeholders working and interested in the field of consumer protection.
