Apex Court seeks Centre’s response on making Moral Science compulsory

The Supreme Court today looked for reactions from the Center and the CBSE on a request to make ‘Moral Science’ subject mandatory in class I to XII in schools the nation over.
Bench consisting Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice A K Siki issued notices to Human Resources Development Ministry and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on the PIL.
“Issue a writ… and direct both respondents (Center and CBSE) to incorporate moral science in syllabus of School Education i.e. Class I to Class XII to incorporate moral values and nurture national character in the national interest,” the plea said.
The petition said that there is a fast corruption of good values in the general public where ‘profiting in any case’ is the sole adage of life.
The general public needs a quality based good training framework by acculturating instruction and making understudies worldwide residents with all inclusive qualities, it included.
“Keeping in perspective good values opposite realism, another school educational program needs to be redone to incorporate profound learning to empower understudies not to succumb to the weight of partaking in rodent race of life which would not lessen him to the level of a rodent just,” the request said.
