One of the influential Jat organisations that was at the fore-front of the reservation protests in Haryana; the All India Jat Arakshan Sangharah Samiti has threatened to start a similar movement in Punjab.
Karnail Singh Bhawda, president of the Punjab unit, said the protest would be no different from that of Haryana, UP and Delhi.
The call for agitation has been made at the time when Punjab is getting ready for assembly elections in January,2017.
Samiti leaders will meet in Delhi on April 3rd to chalk out future plans,
The president of All India Jat Mahasabha, Amarinder Singh, said : ” I support reservation for Jats in Punjab who own less than five acres of land”
