Modern Law College invites applications for the 10th Shankarrao Kantikar National Memorial Moot Court Competition to be held on January 9th, 2016.

Modern Law College, Ganeshkhind, Pune.
Language:
The written and oral submissions shall be in English only.

According to the rules of Bar Council of India (Baring Gowns and Bands)
Team Composition:
The team should consist of two speakers
Registration:
The teams must register on or before 31st December 2015.

Registration Fees is Rs. 1000/- per team without accommodation
Rs. 3000/- per team with accommodation (for one room on twin sharing basis)
Payable by DD only Drawn on “Principal, Modern Law College, Pune” payable at Pune Travel plan should be submitted 15 days before the competition otherwise accommodation shall not be provided.
Transport from hotel to college and college to Hotel on the day of competition shall be provided. Fee is inclusive of registration, breakfast, lunch, group photo. Cash may be accepted only on request. Teams have to bear the travelling expenses of their own.
Bench:
The Bench will comprise of two judges for preliminary rounds and of three judges for final rounds.
Memorials:
Four copies of each side, spiral bound memorials.
Blue for petitioner/ appellant and red for respondent
Typed on A4 size paper with one side printing not exceeding 20 pages, font size 12 (Times New Roman) line spacing of 1.5.
The memorial must contain:
Title Page
The table of Contents,
The Statement of Facts,
The Statement of Jurisdiction,
The Statement of Issues,
The Prayer Clause and Bibliography
Name of the participant and the College, only on the title page.
Memorials not in format shall be liable to be rejected.
Memorials will not be returned to the participants.

Conduct of Moot Court:
The lots will be drawn at 8.30 a.m., accordingly teams shall represent from the petitioner or respondent side.
Both the speakers each team shall speak from the side as per the lots drawn.
One college representing Petitioner side shall compete with other college representing Respondent side.
In the preliminary round each team will be allotted 20 minutes (15 minutes for arguments, 2 minutes for judges Questions and 3 minutes for rebuttals.
Each team shall decide the time required by each speaker out of the 20 minutes allotted.
In the final round each team will be allotted 30 minutes (20 minutes for arguments, 5 minutes for judge’s questions and 5 minutes for rebuttals.
The proceedings of the Moot Court Sessions may be video recorded
Host team shall not be considered for the Prizes even if they participate.
The Competition starts at 9.00 a.m. The teams are to report latest by 8.00 a.m. on 9th January 2016
Separate lots shall be drawn for the final round

The decision of the judges shall be final and no disputes shall be entertained in this regard.
