SC seeks welfare of the elderly

The Supreme Court expressed concern for the 10 crore senior citizens in the country especially when the crime against them has increased.
The Supreme Court asked Centre to present a roadmap for the basic facilities like shelter, food and healthcare for such senior citizens deprived of love and respect.
“We are a trillion dollar economy and yet the central government just advocates 25 crore for the welfare of the aged”, expressed with deep concern the bench of Chief Justice TS Thakur and justices R Banumathi and UU Lalit.
