Supreme Court stays Manipur MLA's disqualification order.

The Supreme Court on Friday 18th March,2016 stayed an earlier order of Manipur High Court which declared that the election of M.Prithviraj as a legislator of the assembly is null and void.
Prithviraj won a Congress ticket from the Moirang Assembly constituency in the assenbly polls of 2012. On February 29th, the Supreme Court declared his election as null an void for producing a fake MBA certificate from Mysore University in his election affidavit.
While staying the High Court verdict,the apex court directed that the petitioner M.Prithviraj,  is permitted to participate in the proceedings but not to vote and draw remuneration as a legislator. The final hearing of the case will be on 5th May.
