Supreme Court:Rs. 100 Crore Spent on Republic Day Parade, But no Compensation to Farmers

The Supreme Court pulled up the Union government today for spending crores on the Republic Day parade however deferring the installment of pay to ranchers for area obtained from them.
“You spend Rs. 100 crores on Republic Day parade however concerning installment of pay to ranchers. You record requests,” Chief Justice HL Dattu told the Center.
The court’s perception came amid a becoming aware of the Defense Ministry’s requests identifying with pay to ranchers ashore securing in cantonment territories in Punjab.
The Punjab and Haryana high court had honored a significant remuneration to ranchers and the service had offered against it.
In any case the Supreme Court declined to meddle, saying, “agriculturists are denied of sensible remuneration”. The legislature, the court said, spends “such a great amount of cash on cases” yet “takes an alternate stand” regarding paying agriculturists.
The Chief Justice additionally scrutinized the Union government for not making enough framework for the working of tribunals. “On the off chance that you are not able to give convenience, why make such tribunals?” the court said.
Equity Dattu said as of late, a resigned Supreme Court Judge who was designated on a tribunal, was not given settlement.
“I am anguished that you are pushing them (Judges) to Commonwealth town. Why distinctive treatment for them? You must make framework before making tribunals,” the court said.
